MB900001203CRLaws, Technical Regulations, Standards and Recommendations

Overview of selected ČSN issued in July to September 2013
Jan Kolomazník
New standards concerning ventilation for buildings (newly translated), plastic and rubber vzpour control layers, calculation of thermal transmittance of industrial, commercial and garage doors, set of standards with specifications for factory made thermal insulation products for building equipment and industrial installations and a set of standards for determination of variol properties of thermal insulating products for building applications.

Is a specific substance an ambiguous, specific parametre of lightweight structures′ properties?
Jaroslav Řehánek
The article shows that a specific substance is not a determining parametre of building structures′ thermal properties. The default value for this is a Fourier number. An evolution of brickwork is being used as a descriptive example.

Water vapor condensation time in the area of joints in glazing frame of window structures
Roman Jirák
The article shows a timeframe of water vapor condensation on an inner surface during the day and the severity of this phenomenon is being discussed.

Dynamical Hygrothermal Assessment of Building Structures
Petr Slanina
The dynamic hygrothermal model of coupled heat and moisture transport in materials is described and it is used in two practical examples. The first example describes the influence of solar radiation on heat transport in a wall assembly. The second example shows how quickly the moist wall assembly will dry out depending on different exterior finishes.

Construction and operation experience with a passive administrative building OTAZNÍK
Jan Neuwirt
Knowledge gained during construction and a two-year operation of a passive administrative building Otazník in Ostrava. Architectural and construction solution for the building, technical parameters, selected applied materials. Total use of energy and operating costs of the building, from its start. Comparison of energy consumption and costs incurred during each period of time, use of internal energy sources.

Influence of Thermal Bridges on Thermal Losses of the Apartment House Designed in Constructional System Ytong
Rastislav Menďan
The contribution presents an method of calculation of ΔU-value (increasing transmission heat loss coefficient because of thermal bridges) on a real apartment house. Various variants of the apartment house are solved (i.e. without additional thermal insulation of external walls and with thermal insulation added from external or internal side of external walls to enable to observe this influence on the final ΔU-value.

Energy Savings, Economy, Efficiency

Thermal losses caused by rain sewage pipes
Vladimír Valenta, Jakub Vrána
The article shows determination of thermal losses in an inner environment due to the rain sewage pipes that therethrough diverts water from the roof.

Realization and Quality of Buildings, their use

Experiences gained during construction of a passive retirement house in Modřice
Josef Smola
The article focuses on the generally less published information about sequence of construction works and on the construction site inspection. With respect to its extent, the article is aimed to describe the issues for a common use of construction and architecture aspects, which can be generalised. (Further gained knowledge would certainly require a continuation).
